MADA: journalists Camilli and Abu-Afesh were killed today"

Ramallah-13/8/2014The Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms(MADA), today the journalists Simon Kamili and Ali Shehdi Abu Afesh were killed, and the journalist Hatem Mousa sustained serious injuries as a result of a rocket explosion, fired by IOF a on Beit Lahia city northern Gaza Strip during its aggression.

 

The cameraman journalist of the American News Agency(Associated Press) Adel Hanna reported to MADA:"The cameraman of the Associated Press TV,38 years old,Simon Kamili was accompanying the journalist and the translator of the American Agency(Associated Press) Ali Shehdi Abu Afesh who works with French Press Agency and Doha Center for Media Freedoms, and the photo journalist  of Associated Press Agency Hatem Mousa (who works also with Wafa News Agency).When the three journalists, who were accompanying a group of Palestinian Police and explosives experts,wanted to prepare a report- story on the shells and rockets which were not exploded during Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip,a rocket exploded killing the journalists Simon and Abu Afesh,and seriously injuring the journalist Hatem Mousa.

The number of the killed journalists since launching the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip raised to 15 journalists and media worker. Besides , injuring many journalists and shelling of many media outlets headquarters. 

Three explosive experts of the Palestinian Police and somebody were killed. Several  people also sustained serious injures according to Palestinian sources.

 

The Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) strongly condemns killing of  journalists and civilians by IOF during Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip,stresses again on holding IOF responsible for killing journalists and media workers ,whom most of them were killed during exercising their profession,and demands again to hold the responsible accountable for committing these crimes.
