Ramallah 28/7/2014: The Israeli occupation forces shelled yesterday morning, the headquarters of Al-Aqsa TV in Burj Al-Shurouq in Gaza city, as they continue their attacks against media outlets and journalists.
The General Director of the TV, Sa’ed Radwan, reported to MADA, that yesterday morning, around 11:57, a drone attacked the TV station’s headquarter with a rocket, at the 15th floor in Burj Al-Shurouq in Al-Rimal. The attack caused damage to the wall of the TV, as well as the computer devices, the offices and the cameras, the shelling also caused the damage to the water tanks on the roof of the tower, and as a result of this, the water leaked into the office and caused breakdown to the electricity network and the Air-conditions, but there was no causalities.
Along with that, the IOF injured a number of journalists in the last few days while they were covering anger demonstrations in West Bank against the savage attack on Gaza strip. As the Israeli forces shot, 25/7/2014, the journalist Thaer Abu Baker in Jenin, which caused break in his right leg, they also injured in 26/7/2014, the journalist Rami Al-Khatib in Jerusalem after they shot him with rubber bullet in his right leg, besides injuring Anatole agency’s photographer, Muath Mish’al (29 years old), with shrapnel of exploded live bullet in his right arm while he was covering the clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli occupation forces near Bet El settlement north Ramallah, one fragment entered his right arm above the wrist and was placed there. Mish’al went to Ramallah hospital for treatment, but the X-rays showed that it is really hard and dangerous to take the fragment out of his arm, even with surgery.
Nader Pepers, the production manager of “Good morning Jerusalem” program, and emergencies cameraman at Palestine TV, was shot with a rubber bullet below his neck in Wadi Al-Jouz in Jerusalem on 24/7/2014. Filisteen Alyaum’s correspondent, Jihad Barakat (25 years old) faints as a result of tear gas bombs near Qalandya Checkpoint north Jerusalem, Zakariyya Al-Salhi (26 years old) who works as an editor at Ramsat company, was slightly injured in his chest also near Qalandya Checkpoint on 24/7/2014. Raya FM’s photographer, Shadi Hatem (21years old) was shot from an anonymous, near Qalandya checkpoint on 24/7/2014, the bullet injured his right leg and he was carried to Ramallah hospital for treatment, and had been told that he should wait for two weeks until they pull the bullet out of his leg, but he made a surgery at Al-Ria’aya hospital at 3 PM on the same day and the bullet was taken out of his leg as they all reported to MADA.
