Mada Center denounce attacks on journalists in Gaza, and consider it a serious violation of freedom of opinion and expression

Mada Center strongly denounce, the executive force members, physical attacks on journalists, vandalism of cameras, threats and shooting towards them, and the arrest of four of them, during their coverage of the executive force dispersal of a march, organized by Fatah movement, in Gaza city, yesterday (August 24) .
the executive force arrested Zoom company for television production cameraman Khalid Bulbol (they beat him also), France Press Agency photographer Mohamed Albaba, Russia Today channel cameraman Mustafa Albayed, and French channel two cameraman Ibrahim Dahman, where they were detained for one hour at one of its offices, and released after that.
They attacked and attempted to arrest Reuters agency cameraman Abed Rabbo Shana’h, where Adel Zanoun Palestine TV reporter, Al-Jazeera correspondent Wael Dahdouh and Quds Al-Arabi newspaper reporter Ashraf Alhour, tried to convince them not arrest him , but they insisted on it (broken parts of the camera broke during that), then a large group of people pushed and released him , they began shooting towards the four journalists, they also attacked Palestine Company for Media Production cameraman Ahmed Hassounah (they sabotage his camera), and Arabiya channel cameraman Jamal Abu Nahel.
Mada Center express deep concern over repeated attacks on journalists by the executive force in Gaza Strip, and consider it a serious violation of media freedoms, which are guaranteed by Basic Palestinian Law, Printing Publishing Law, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The executive force confirmation, of their respect for freedom of opinion and expression, must be applied in practical terms, through the cessation of attacks on journalists, and bring those responsible of it to justice.
