Response to the government media office in Gaza statement
which accused MADA of “slander and double standard"

The Governmental Information Office in Gaza  issued a statement yesterday evening claiming that the government did not prevent Palestinian journalists from traveling, and MADA’s press release which was issued on 28 October 2010 and demanded the government to cease the policy of preventing journalists from traveling is “pure slander and not true".

We would like to emphasize that we did not invent the subject, and our press release mentioned specific cases with dates. And about being accused of “double standards" it is not true, as there is no doubt about MADA’s credibility. If the government office employers visit our website and see our press releases and reports, they will discover that we are not biased to anyone, and we defended all journalists in West Bank and Gaza Strip, whether the attackers were the Israeli occupation forces and settlers, or the Palestinian security apparatuses in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

We renew our demands for all parties to respect media freedoms in the occupied Palestinian territories, which are guaranteed by Article 19 of the Palestinian Basic Law, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, instead of making accusations against MADA center.
