Mada express deep concern over the continued detention of journalist Sabri and demands his immediate release

The Palestinian Centre for Development and Media Freedoms (Mada) expresses deep concern over the continued detention of freelance journalist Mustafa Ali Sabri by intelligence service in Qalqilya city (WB). Ignoring the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice to release him on September 10, in a step shows disregard to the decisions of the highest Palestinian judicial body.
His wife said that the Palestinian intelligent service arrested Sabri on July 31 and extradited him to the military police on August 13, where the military prosecutor issued the decision for his detention. They released him on September 11, where the intelligence service arrested him a few minutes later.
Sabri has been subjected to arrest, interrogation and detention many times over the past few months without charge. Sabri and his family believed that it was due to the desire of intelligence service in Qalqilya “to blacken his life". The actions which were taken against him shows his sincerity
Mada condemns the continued arrest of Sabri, considers it flagrant violation of freedom of opinion and expression, and calls on for his immediate release
