Mada expresses concern over the continuation of attacks against journalists and media outlets

Mada Centre expressed deep concern over the continued attacks on journalists and media outlets in Palestinian territories, since the beginning of this year, the latest of which was chasing the Al-Hayat Al-Jadidah newspaper office director in Gaza Strip Muneer Abu Rizk, by the executive force, in an attempt to arrest him, since thirteen of this month, in addition to the continuing detention of columnist Omar Al-Goul, since the fourteenth of last December, as Raiding the headquarters of the Palestinian intelligence in Gaza City by unknown men, on the seventh of January, and the theft of a large number of its equipment.
Number of journalists was arrested by security forces in Tulkarem city (Aqsa TV Director Office West Bank Mohamed Ishtiwi, Sawt al-Aqsa Radio correspondent Tariq Shahab, on January 6, and Saleem Tayeh Felesteen newspaper reporter, on January 9).
Mada also express surprise over the rejection of Palestinian Public Television yesterday, a television to broadcast program about state of public freedoms in Palestine, prepared and submitted by Falesteeneyat org., and sponsored by UNESCO office, while some passages were deleted from the two previous programs about media issues, by the TV management.
Mada condemn all attacks against journalists and media outlets, which constitute a serious violation of freedom of media, it calls on the Palestinian concern parties to put an end to them, to stop the policy of journalists detention, release of columnist Omar Ghoul, respect for freedom of opinion and expression, and calls on Media outlets and journalists to desist from self-censorship, which caused serious damage to Palestinian media.
