The Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) Denounce the Israeli occupation forces attacks on the correspondent and photographer of the European Agency (EPA) Abdel-Hafiz Hashlamoun, the photographer of (ABA) agency Najeh Hashlamoun, in two separate incidents in east Hebron yesterday morning.
According to Abdel-Hafiz, one of the Israeli soldiers beat him with the gun
on his waist, and kicked him by his feet when he was filming the Israeli
soldiers sweeps Palestinian’s territory in Hebron. This attack causes
him suffering from bruises and scratches on his body, and severe pain in
his waist.
Najeh Hashlamoun said: “‘we heard that the Israeli workers belonging to the
civil administration are destroying the irrigation pipes which belong to
the Palestinian farmers in the east of Hebron. And when we went there to
cover it, the workers attacked me and hit my camera on my face, causing
bleeding in my mouth." He added that they tried to attack Reuter’s
photographer Nayef Hashlamoun, but the Palestinian farmers protected him,and then the Israeli army came and took the workers with them.
MADA center demands once again the international community to interveneimmediately to stop Israeli attacks against Palestinian journalists.
