MADA’s director was selected in the Advisory Group of UNESCO report by Oxford University
Oxford University has selected Mousa Rimawi general director of the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms "MADA" as a member of the Advisory Group for the 2017 publication of the UNESCO report entitled: "World Trends in Freedom of Expression and Media Development “, which includes academics, decision-makers and experts from all over the world, including several universities “The University of Oxford (UK), the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa), and the University of Pennsylvania (USA) “ are working with UNESCO to produce the 2017 Report.
Selecting MADA’s general director a member of the Advisory Group is considered as a new attainment added to all previous outstanding achievements "MADA" managed to accomplish in the international arena during 2016, due to all systematic efforts in the defense of media freedoms since more than a decade.
MADA was granted a special consultative status at the ECOSOC/UN back in April 2016.
Moreover, MADA’s general director was elected in the steering committee of the GFMD in September 2016.
In addition, to all other achievements that were successfully accomplished on the national level in collaboration with many partners, as the most prominent was freezing the adoption of higher council of media law due to all legal gaps in the law.
