Ramallah- 23/08/2016- the head of the Governmental Information Office Mr. Jamal Dajani received a delegation from the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms "MADA" headed by the general director Mousa Rimawi, where they discussed what has been achieved in relation to preparing and discussing a number of media laws, besides the importance of adopting such laws, particularly the Right to Access Information law as well as the law of the Higher Council of Media .
Mr. Dijani emphasis that the government understands the importance of adopting these two laws, besides another laws that help in developing media in a way that would serve the interests of Palestinian society.
He also said that approving such laws would serve ,in the same time, the development of governmental and public institutional performance, furthermore, he points out the importance of the partnership within various civil and official institutions in order to develop the public performance.
On the other hand, Rimawi presented the exerted effort of adopting the Right to Access Information Law and the Law of the Higher Council of Media. He also said that these two laws were subjected to an official and nongovernmental long discussion, and he said that adopting both these laws doesn’t only serve the media, but also serving the Palestinian government and society, and provide a positive image about the state of Palestine at the international level. He also emphasis the importance of adopting these two laws as soon as possible.
