Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Ziad Abu Amr, on 14/06 received the” Higher Media Council” draft law from the secretariat including (media Institutions and Human Rights organizations including  MADA).

 

Dr. Abu Amr promised to discuss the draft with the secretariat and other governmental and non-governmental bodies soon.

MADA’s general director Mousa Rimawi contributed in the third edition of the Civil Society Forum – Neighborhood, as a continuation of the EU efforts to deepen its engagement with Civil Society, as the forum aims to provide a platform for action oriented dialogue, based on regional agendas across the Mediterranean region.

 

This Brussels gathering was just preceded in April by a preparatory meeting in Jordan with over than 80 civil society participants from Southern Neighborhood countries. 

This meeting prepared input for the Forum's themes and discussions while also assessing the dialogue initiative's progress that Razan Namari participated in on behalf of MADA center.

The Forum was built on three main challenges identified by Civil Society in previous editions (mobility and migration, reducing inequalities, shrinking space for Civil Society).

 

Mousa Rimawi, in his several interventions, throughout the sessions, highlighted the importance of engaging CSOs in direct and open dialogue with the EU, Particularly in Palestine, due to the significant role of civil societies, in conjunction with the absence of the legislative council.

 

Rimawi also focused on all challenges and complications that hinder CSOs achievements, moreover he also praised the marvelous experience of consultancy in West Bank as it was beneficial, as it can be modified and implemented in other countries from southern neighborhood.
