Ramallah- A delegation from the Coalition to Defend Access to Information (Khabbirni) met  with the undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy Dr. Tayseer Amr in order on 12 October 2015 to discuss enacting the access to information law.

Mr. Amr assured that the ministry will support to enact the law, explaining the importance of the discussions happened and that will happen; which will come out with a good modern law that will be very helpful to the Palestinian society.

MADA’s General Director and the representative of “Khabbirni” Mr.  Mousa Rimawi emphasized the need of the law for different sides. He pointed out that Mr. Rafeeq Natshe presented the law to the Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah in 2013, after discussing it with the National Committee formed by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Anti-Corruption Commission and was published on their websites for everyone to put notes on it.

He also presented the coalition’s objectives; which was established three months ago. Khabbirni constituent body includes the following organizations: AMAN, Al-Haq, Birzeit Media Development Center, Journalist’s Syndicate and MADA.

Al-Rimawi praised the interest shown by the Ministry of Economy to enact the access to information law and being a part of the Palestinian pillars putting the efforts in order to adopt this law.
