Ramallah – 20th March 2014: the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) conducted a workshop today for journalists on Human rights and freedom of expression according to local and international conventions in Ramallahcity.
Journalists from the different local media outlets participated and learnedthe history of human rights development at the global level, and through joint working groups they listed and classified human rights from a global perspective.
Mr. Jihad Harb (trainer) reviewed the concept of freedom of opinion and expression in the second part of the workshop, and explained the Palestinian laws that regulate the media work, and which guarantees freedom of expression and opinion in Palestine. Harb also opened a discussion about specific cases of violations committed against Palestinian journalists, and the causes and repercussions of these violations on the local and international level.
This workshop is part of a series of workshop funded by UNESCO as MADA’s legal program activities and legal training for Palestinian journalists in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
