Ramallah – June 25, 2025 The General Assembly of the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) held its annual meeting on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Center’s headquarters in Ramallah. During the meeting, the administrative and financial reports for the year 2024 were discussed and approved, and a new Board of Directors for the 2025–2027 term was elected.
DR. GHAZI HANANIA, Chairperson of MADA’s Board, presented the 2024 administrative report, which highlighted the Center’s achievements over the past year. These included participation in conferences and workshops at local, regional, and international levels, contributing to the Center’s continued leadership in defending media freedom and freedom of opinion and expression. The report also detailed information about MADA’s programs, activities, objectives, and the strategic issues the Center has championed since its establishment.
The Center’s financial officer then reviewed the audited financial report for 2024, which had been examined by an international auditing firm. He also addressed questions and inquiries from General Assembly members regarding the report.
Following the approval of both the administrative and financial reports by the General Assembly, a new nine-member Board of Directors was elected. In its first meeting, the Board assigned roles as follows:

- MS. SANAA ARANKI – Vice Chairperson
- DR. TALEB AWAD – Treasurer
- MR. MAJID SAWALHA – Secretary
- MR. HUSSEIN SHABANEH, MR. ALAA AL-BADARNA, MR. SALEH HAKAWATI, MR. MAHFOUZ ABU TURK, and MS. LUBNA AL-ASHQAR – Members of the Board.
