Ramallah -20/12/2011: The Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) today released the fourth issue of its specialized media affairs magazine MADA El-E’lam.

MADA El-E’lam Editor in Chief Mousa Rimawi stated that this issue focuses on Palestinian satellite channels with several reports shedding light on the failures and challenges faced by existing and planned channels, including the oversaturation of Arabic language channels which now number more than 733, all competing for Arab and Palestinian audiences.

Rimawi added that in addition to the focus topic, this issue of MADA El-E’lam also examines media and professional scrutiny of a number of Arab satellite channels in their coverage of Muammar Gaddafi’s death; and discusses the impact the seizure of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate headquarters in Gaza will have on the unity and efficacy of the syndicate.

MADA has printed five thousand copies of the magazine, which holds 50 pages of content, and distributed them to journalists, media institutions and a number of interested persons and institutions throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
