MADA Center wraps up two training workshops on digital rights media campaigns

Ramallah - As part of its continuous efforts to promote and defend digital rights in Palestine, the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) concluded a two-day training course yesterday (17/6/2019), aimed at strengthening and building the capacity of journalists and media students from different areas of the West Bank and Gaza Strip on building digital rights media campaigns and participation in the campaigns organized by MADA for the promotion of digital rights in Palestine.

 

Two training workshops were held simultaneously in Ramallah/ West Bank with the presence of 20 journalists from different cities, and the other in the Gaza Strip with the presence of 15 journalists. The training is part of a three-year project supported by the European Union Office in Jerusalem under the title "A step forward towards promoting freedom of expression in Palestine". The project aims to promote freedom of opinion and expression, the right to access to information and digital rights in Palestine.

 

 

In the beginning of the training, Trainers Abdul Aziz Al-Aidi and Dr. Majed Tarban in Ramallah and Gaza made presentation on the social media networks, the features of social media as a means of change and influence, and how to reach as many people as possible in a review of the previous session on "Digital Rights" training last year.

 

The training dealt with a set of topics related to the building of media campaigns in terms of definition of campaigns, types, uses, components and message. The training also dealt with the correct mechanism for designing the campaign, which is necessary for its success and what it contains and what its strategy and tactics.

 

At the end of the training, the participants expressed the integration of the content and comprehensiveness of the training, the importance of this training and the need for journalists and social activists to be more deeply involved in the overall media campaigns and linking it to the subject of digital rights.

 

The director general of MADA, Mousa Rimawi distributed certificates to the participants expressing his hope that this session has achieved the desired results, and be a station that contributes to the active participation between participants and MADA to build campaign to promote digital rights and freedom of expression.
