
MADA release the third issue of its’ media magazine MADA El-E’lam:
Shedding light on Palestinian electronic media
Ramallah – 19 October 2011- The third issue of the magazine “MADA El-E’lam” was released today by the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA), which focuses on issues of local press performance, media affairs issues nationally, regionally and internationally, in addition to issues related to freedom of expression.
Chief editor of "MADA El-E’lam" Mousa Rimawi said that the magazine – which is distributed in the West Bank and Gaza - covers a range of immediate media issues such as Palestinian, Israeli and American media coverage of the Palestinians UN memberships bid, in addition to shedding light on a number of issues regarding the development of media performance in oPt.
Rimawi added that this issue of the magazine focuses on electronic press in Palestine through a set of reports and topics concerning the challenges of electronic press as opposed to the views of the media workers and the public that use it.
Rimawi praised the Palestinian journalists who participated in this month’s issue who continue to contribute to the success and development of the magazine through their writings, ideas and suggestions, many of which are reflected in each new periodical which is still in its developmental stages.
The third issue covers an array of topics such as: The Palestinian bid at the UN General Assembly, in local ,Israeli and American media, advertising …impunity from criticism, the use of press badges by non journalists, the challenges faced by new journalism graduates, the importance of media research, electronic media, media in Gaza, blogging, a poll on Palestinian electronic media, the story of Al-Arabia channel presenter Mohamad Obaid, successful stories of young female journalists, the future of Palestinian media should funds be suspended, review of a study about the draft law of audio-visual media in Palestine, and representations of news in Palestinian media.
