The Israeli occupation forces target Filistin Al-Yom TV crew and injure three journalists

Ramallah - 6/7/2014: The Israeli occupation forces attacked the crew of Filistin Al-Yom [Palestine Today] TV at around 1:30 am on Sunday. The team was in the At-Tur neighborhood of Jerusalem, covering live the clashes between Palestinian youth and Israeli occupation forces which have escalated since the killing of the Jerusalemite boy Mohammed Abu Khdair a few days ago.

The correspondent of Filistin Al-Yom TV, Ahmad Al-Budeiri, told MADA that the Israeli occupation forces threw stun grenades towards the TV crew while they were standing beside the broadcasting car, wearing press jackets. He reported that he was injured in the abdomen, his colleague Ahmad Jaber, who works for Pal Media company, suffered an eye injury, and another journalist, Waleed Matar, was hit by a shrapnel in his ear. Al-Budeiri added that the three of them were standing in a visible position, with all people including the Israeli occupation forces knowing that they were journalists, and that therefore he presumed that they were attacked deliberately. The three journalists were transferred to Al-Makassed hospital to receive treatment.

MADA wishes a quick recovery to the three injured journalists and demands the international community to put an end to the Israeli attacks on media workers.
