Ramallah-  5/10l2015: The Israeli occupation forces  continued targeting of Palestinian journalists, especially after the recent events in the West Bank including Jerusalem,  happening as a result of the Israeli attempts  of the temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa mosque, and the killing of 5 settlers and two Palestinians.

For instance, the IOF targeted Al-Mayadeen TV correspondent Hana’ Mahameed with a stun grenade and injured her in the face  yesterday, whilst she was covering the IOF storming the martyr Fadi Allouni’s house in Al-Esawiyya village near Jerusalem.

The IOF also targeted Awda  TV correspondent Ahmad Barahme with a teargas bomb that injured his right leg while he was covering the settlers storming the house of Al-Hurini family near Bet-El settlement on Saturday(3/10/2015) . Also, Filisteen Al-Yaum correspondent Amoun Al-Sheikh suffered suffocation while making an interview with the house owner’s son.

On Friday(2/10/2015), the freelance photojournalist Ahmad Hasan was shot in the right leg by an Israeli sniper while he was covering the weekly demonstration in Kafr Qadoum. Hasan stayed in the hospital for one day without extract the bullet out of his leg because its dangerous to extract it.

As MADA wishes the injured journalists a speedy recovery, it also condemns the Israeli violations against Palestinian journalists and urges the International community to pressure the occupation government to stop increasing violations against journalists and to hold the responsible accountable.

MADA also urges the journalists  to abide of safety rules in this dangerous situation, especially that the Israeli Authority gave the green light for the its forces to shoot live bullets at demonstrators in Jerusalem (the military rules are  prevailing in West Bank where the soldiers can shot any kind of  bullets).
